What does AEO mean?
Answer Engine Optimization. Google gives you a page of links; ChatGPT gives you an answer with a few business names in it. AEO is the work of making sure your business is one of those names: a website the AI can read, facts it can trust, and pages that answer the questions your customers actually ask.
Does ChatGPT really recommend local businesses?
Yes. Ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google "who fixes AC in Austin same-day" and you get three or four business names with links, not a page of results. The names it picks are the businesses whose websites it can read and trust. There is no page two. You are in the answer or you are not.
How is this different from SEO?
